World Wide Fund for Nature in Fiji
The main objectives of World Wide Fund for Nature (known globally as WWF) in Fiji is to promote environmental conservation, secure a sustainable natural resource base and set a basis for economic development through research, environmental advocacy and restoration. The emphasis is on facilitating policy change towards sustainable development and conservation.
The Fiji Country Programme currently works in four thematic areas (i.e. Marine, Forests, Climate Change and Species). Projects include Fiji's traditional medicinal plants, Kuta restoration and Ulunikoro marine protected area marine programs on Tikina Wai in the island of Gau and Great Sea Reef, aquarium trade, climate change and forestry.
